b. Note on Responding to Short Answer Questions
- Read short answer questions carefully
- Underline all key words to direct your answer
- * The most common mistake in short answer question responses is not answering the question (you get zero points for leaving it blank)
- Make an outline for your answer
- Jot down key words and phrases before beginning to write your answer
- This should be done quickly, taking only about 1-2 minutes at the beginning of each question
- Include important ideas from your class notes, texts, and specific examples
